Neutr: Case alignment is neutral: the functions S, A, and P are not marked morphologically.
NoPMark: The function P is not explicitly marked, while S, A, or both are marked. P is therefore marked with a zero (∅) morpheme.
(1) āŋki ńēwrem-əʌ ʌāpət-ʌ.
mother child-3sg feed-prs.3sg
‘The mother is feeding her child.’
(2) ńēwrem āŋki-ʌ-nə ʌāpət-ʌ-i.
child mother-3sg-loc feed-prs-pass.3sg
‘The child is fed by her/his mother.’
In Surgut Khanty, the P is not overtly marked morphologically, thus the S, the A, and the P functions are neutrally marked (1). In passive constructions, the A is marked by the locative suffix, and the P is in the nominative case (thus the NoPMark parameter value applies) (2).
