Occurrence of nominal plurality (Hungarian)

OblPlmk: Marking of nominal plurality is obligatory.

Examples:

Singular

Plural

anya ‘mother’

anyá-k

eladó ‘cashier’

eladó-k

gyík ‘lizard’

gyík-ok

fa ‘tree’

fá-k

papír ‘paper’

papír-ok

In Hungarian, the plural is marked by the -k suffix, which is attached to nouns. The animacy hierarchy does not influence the marking of the plural (cf. Balogh 2000a: 185‒186, Kiefer 2003: 205).
