NoDemCase: Demonstratives are standalone words, but cannot be marked for case.

‘It is allowed to swim in this lake.’ (S. O.)

In Synja Khanty, the case-marking suffixes of demonstratives are the same ones which are attached to nouns; however, demonstratives lack case-marking when in adnominal function (cf. Honti 1984, Onina 2009).
