SOV: Basic subordinate word order is SOV.


(1) mīša jast-əɣ, məttə saša ənəʌ sɔ̄rt wäʌ.

Misha say-pst.3sg pcl Sasha big pike kill.pst.3sg

‘Misha said that Sasha caught a big pike.’


In Surgut Khanty, the subordinate clauses that entail a finite verb have the same word order, which can be observed in simple sentences too.
