In Synja Khanty, the subject of intransitive (and transitive) verbs is the first element of neutral sentence, while the verbal predicate is at the end (cf. Honti 1984: 88‒89, Nikolaeva 1999a: 57‒61). The position of the subject is independent of verbal semantics.
