In Synja Khanty, the subject (S, A) is typically at the beginning of the sentence, while the verb is at the end of the sentence. The subject precedes the verb even if it is expressed by a pronoun instead of the noun (cf. Nikolaeva 1999a: 58‒61, Honti 1984: 88, Solovar 2009: 70‒72, 95‒97).
