rabbit-abl strong bear there sleep.prs.3sg
‘The bear, which is stronger than a rabbit, is sleeping there.’ (T. M.)
There are two predicative comparative constructions in Northern Mansi but only one of them can be used in attributival configurations. The standard of comparison takes the ablative case, while the comparee is in the nominative case (1) (Kálmán 1976, Riese 2001). In such clauses, there is no comparative morpheme, so the order is standard – adjective.
