Agreement of predicative adjectives (Northern Mansi)

PredAdjNumAgr:  Predicative adjectives show only number agreement.


(1) ta sāli      janyγ.
that reindeer    big
’That reindeer is big.’ (S. D.)

 (2) ta sāli-t janyγ-ǝt.
that reindeer-pl big-pl
’Those reindeers are big.’ (S. D.)


The adnominal adjective does not agree with the noun head in Northern Mansi. However, when the adjective has predicative function, it agrees in number with the subject (Riese 2001: 63) (1-2).
