Case marking on personal pronouns (Northern Mansi)

PPAff: Case is marked on personal pronouns using suffixes.

(1) taw lāwi
he/she say.prs.3sg
’he/she is saying...’ (S. D.)

(2) saša tawe-n lāwi
Sasa he/she-lat say.prs.3sg
’Sasa is saying it to him/her’ (S. D.)

Similarly to nouns, personal pronouns can take case-marking suffixes in Northern Mansi (2). Most of the case markers are attached to a modified stem (nominative + possessive affix), which is the same form that is used for expressing the accusative when without any case ending (Fincziczky 1930: 12).
