Order of comparative attributive constructions (Surgut Khanty)

StAdj: The order is standard, adjective; markers are not used.

StAdjM: The order is standard, adjective, marker.

(1) čēwer kīńťa wökkəŋ pūpi

rabbit cmpr strong bear

‘the bear, which is stronger than the rabbit’

(2) kīńťa wökkəŋ-šək

woman cmpr strong-comp man

‘the man, who is a little stronger than a woman’

In Surgut Khanty, comparisons are expressed by a special postposition (kīńťa) after the standard, the construction is followed by the adjective (1). A merely slight difference between the comparative standard and the comparee is marked by the -šәk suffix, which is attached to the adjective as a kind of comparative marker (but it is not compulsory) (2).
