In Surgut Khanty, comparisons are expressed by a special postposition (kīńťa) after the standard, the construction is followed by the adjective (1). A merely slight difference between the comparative standard and the comparee is marked by the -šәk suffix, which is attached to the adjective as a kind of comparative marker (but it is not compulsory) (2).
