AdpNNonPM: Person marking cannot be expressed on nominal adpositions.
(1a) pūpi məŋ kīńťa-ɣəw wökkəŋ.
bear we cmpr-1pl strong
‘The bear is stonger than us.’
(1b) pūpi čēwer kīńťa wökkəŋ.
bear rabbit cmpr strong
‘A bear is stronger than a rabbit.’
In Surgut Khanty, some postpositions can take personal suffixes, for example the comparative kīńťa ‘compared to’ postposition if its complement is a personal pronoun (1a). Next to nouns, the postposition is not marked for person (1b).
