In Surgut Khanty, some postpositions can take personal suffixes, for example the comparative kīńťa ‘compared to’ postposition if its complement is a personal pronoun (1a). Next to non-personal pronouns (e.g. demonstratives (1c) or interrogative pronouns (1d)) and nouns (1b), the postposition is not marked for person.
