Inclusive pronouns (Synja Khanty)

Pl1=Pl1: Number distinction exists for the first­person, but inclusive and exclusive are not distinguished.


(1) xalewat min wɔ̄š-a man-lǝ-mǝn.

tomorrow we.du town-lat go-prs-1du

‘The two of us (you and I) are going to the town tomorrow.’ =

‘The two of us ((s)he and I) are going to the town tomorrow.’ (S. O.)


(2) xalewat muŋ wɔ̄š-a man-l-uw.

tomorrow we town-lat go-prs-1pl

‘We (you and I) are going to the town tomorrow.’

‘We (they and I) are going to the town tomorrow.’ (S. O.)


In Synja Khanty, the first person dual (1) and plural (2) personal pronouns can express inclusive and exclusive meanings (S. O.).
