Word order of attributive constructions

This parameter considers the word order within classifying attributive constructions. Prototypically, qualitative adjectives (a subcategory of adjectives) refer to shape, size, or color. This type of attributive construction excludes numeral, possessive, and subordinate attributive constructions. In such a phrase, the adjective appears alongside the noun, and neither fulfills a predicative function.

Types:

AdjN: The attributive adjective precedes the modified noun.

NAdj: The attributive adjective follows the modified noun.

AdjNWbetween: The attributive adjective precedes the modified noun, and a linking word must appear beween the two items.

AdjNWoutside: The attributive adjective precedes the modified noun, and a linking word must appear before or after the entire attributive phrase.

NAdjWbetween: The attributive adjective follows the modified noun, and a linking word must appear beween the two item.

NAdjWoutside: The attributive adjective follows the modified noun, and a linking word must appear before or after the entire attributive phrase.

When a language displays more than one type, multiple values can be listed. If one type is dominant, a slash (/) can separate the two values, with the dominant value appearing first; if neither is dominant, they are listed with an ampersand (&) separating the two.
