Word order of nominal oblique adverbials

Nominal oblique adverbials (marked in this parameter as X) are nouns or noun phrases that function as adverbials, expressing place, time, or means. This category includes noun phrases that are marked by oblique cases and/or contain adpositions. Basic word order is determined by their position in transitive sentences that fulfill the criteria listed in the parameter Transitive word order (S, V, O).

Types:

NoBWO: There is no basic word order.[1]

X1: The nominal oblique adverbial precedes the first transitive argument; for example, XSVO for SVO sentences, XSOV for SOV sentences, etc.

X2: The nominal oblique adverbial follows the first transitive argument and precedes the second; for example, SXVO for SVO sentences, SXOV for SOV sentences, etc.

X3: The nominal oblique adverbial follows the second transitive argument and precedes the third; for example, SVXO for SVO sentences, SOXV for SOV sentences, etc.

X4: The nominal oblique adverbial follows the third transitive argument; for example, SVOX for SVO sentences, SOVX for SOV sentences, etc.

When a language displays more than one type, multiple values can be listed, with the exception of NoBWO. If one type is dominant, a slash (/) can separate the two values, with the dominant value appearing first; if no type is dominant, they are listed with an ampersand (&) separating the values.
